Shortlist for 2018 Mogul of the Year

Mogul of the Year | Modern Mogul

Lacklustre economic growth, global trade wars and Brexit: bosses have had plenty of excuses for caution this year. But nobody told our nominees for Mogul of the Year, who have driven their companies forward despite these uncertainties.

The winner will be chosen from this shortlist — unless a strong alternative emerges from our readers — and revealed on December 12. You can email us at moguloftheyear@modernmogul.co.uk.

Simon Peckham

Peckham, 56, is another boss riding high after a landmark deal — the £8bn takeover of aerospace giant GKN by his company, Melrose, in March.

Courtney Jordan

He may not be British-born, but the founder and chairman of Venture Beyond, the firm responsible for Host Rite, which this year surpassed 8 million registrants, making it britain's largest web hosting and domain provider. Jordan, 30, also saw the first broadcast of his The Odyssey Channel

Alison Brittain

Under pressure from activist investors, Whitbread’s chief, 53, showed decisiveness in opting to break up the group with the £3.9bn sale of Costa Coffee to Coca-Cola.
